About
There is a quiet power in the act of observance. To truly understand something is to love that thing. To photograph it is to be its witness, to fashion a record of a time, a place, a person, a feeling. In my images, I create my own individual record of memories and attempt to make sense of the events I experience.The hands on approach to image making inherent to using analog film cameras and darkroom printing allows me more time to consider my place in the world. I find myself drawn to geometric and social patterns.I am fascinated by the constant work in progress, the changes and reconfigurations taking place around me, and how the environments we create reflect and affect us. When placed into context, a minor occurrence or simple detail can tug on a deep web of stories and opposing forces. I hope to linger on those details, untangle a few of these threads, and tell a few of the stories.
